The traditional layout and ambiance provided a genuinely authentic experience, complete with that charming garden view perfect for a morning coffee. The futons offered surprising comfort, ensuring a good night's rest after a long day of exploration.
Be prepared to haul your luggage up a steep flight of stairs, which can be a pain if you're loaded down. The building lacks good winter insulation, so bring something warm for sitting by the garden in colder months. Keep in mind that noise travels easily, especially footsteps from above, which could be bothersome to light sleepers.

Does it deliver?
My stay was a dream! A blend of elegance with a beautiful inner garden and some of the comfiest beds I’ve experienced. Hiro's warm hospitality and insightful recommendations turned my trip into a memorable adventure!
Access can be challenging. Be prepared for steep stairs, which might be burdensome with heavy luggage. The space can feel chilly at times, especially in the cooler months.

The room was clean, and I loved opening the window to get a view of the beautiful garden. The atmosphere was unique with a mix of traditional and modern elements, and Hiro, the host, made everything feel even more special with his helpful tips for sightseeing. Just wish it had better insulation for chilly nights!

It was just a prime choice for a weekend escape in Kyoto with definitely value for money. The futons were surprisingly comfortable for our family, making our stay enjoyable. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper, as it can get a bit noisy at night.
